Description

Blue record 41cm diameter, 33 1/3 RPM, in paper sleeve, entitled: Sydney University Expedition 1949. Chants and Rituals. Recorded by Professor Elkin. Part 2A and Part 2B. AIATSIS transcription: The Ginbir coroboree of the Djinba tribe. The first series is led by a Yiritja, and the second by a Dua moiety songman. Recorded at Mainoru, dance one. The Ginbir series includes: flying fox, fire - making, parrot, green hornet, yam, white pigeon, crow, sea-gull, mussel, a fish, rain, rainbird, spirit of the dead, and blow fly.
