10 02 2011 - Carved wooden handle with plaited plant fibre binding around lower end and forming a cap above the club head. Club head is smooth carved stone in disc-shape with a hole through the centre. There is some red cotton on the underside of the club head around the wooden shaft. There is a metal nail protruding from the top end. There are a few notch marks around the top of the lower binding at the top of the shaft. There is an inscription on the stone club head that reads “Head Hunting […] Darnley Is”.
The Foundation Donation comprises the items from L. P. Winterbotham's personal collection, which were donated to the University of Queensland in 1948 and form the basis of the Anthropology Museum.
