Maori staff. As reported for Australian Museum survey 1982: Parrying club flattening at end. Length 150.5cm; 132.5cm shaft. Wood. Circumference 7.2cm top. Elaborately incised top ending in a point. Bird like eyes at base of design inlaid with mother of pearl (three missing).
Originally registered as a club, but in 1999 identified by Alan West (valuer) as a staff.
