Description

Medium sized shield of light-wood. The entire surface of the face has been engraved. There are six panels; each defined by two horizontal lines. Both terminal tips are engraved with narrow vertical straight parallel lines that are closely spaced. The four central panels are engraved with curving vertical lines that are loosely spaced. A large area on the edge seems to have been burnt with the centre material having been removed, leaving a patch of fresh wood with a collar of darkened material. The back is water stained, has insect cocoons attached, and is undecorated. There are dark and light areas that seem to be the result of weathering.
