Description

Wooden club. Distal end is carved to a blunt point. Incised markings around the proximal end constituting the "handle". Decorated along length of club with seven bands of light coloured pigment. Length 71 cm, proximal diameter 3 cm, distal diameter 4 cm.

Visiting Elders from the Jigalong Community (Timmy Paterson and Jimmy?) suggested that the red and white stripes on this item indicate that it may be associated with rainmaking ceremony [21/11/2002].
