Description

Palm leaf manuscript made of 101 pieces of palm leaf (the last two are stapled together) each with 3 holes punched at either end and one just off centre. The leaves are cut to 400 x 35mm, are stacked one on top of each other and held together by a piece of cotton string thread through the centre hole. The edges appear to be sealed with a red substance. Each leaf is inscribed on both sides with text and illustrations; the top leaf reads "J Nyoman K. Nurati. tenganan / Manggis. Amlapura - Bali". Two of the last leaves show the illustration still in pencil and not yet inscribed. The manuscript sits inside a carved wood box.
