Painting, acrylic on canvas, entitled 'Our Dreaming'. The central motif is a 3-toed frog foot, encircled by a snake. The top left hand corner features a fish, the top right hand corner an echidna, the bottom right corner a goanna / lizard; and the bottom left hand corner shows a turtle. There are also some circles, and sinuous lines which may be paths. Colours include black, white, yellow and shades of brown, with gold line highlights. The 91cm x 61cm board has been framed with 4 pieces of dowel screwed together (2 pieces 975mm and 2 pieces 605mm). It is signed in the bottom right hand corner in gold: 'K E V M 94.'
'OUR DREAMING. The path depicted as told by my Elders. There are visible and spiritual signs of our dreaming that were mapped out by my ancestors from the beginning of time for us to follow and to enhance our very being.' [Exhibition label 1994]
Karen Moran was employed as artist-in-residence from 29/09/1993 to 29/04/1994. During this time she made 9 paintings [40245 to 40253] which were displayed in the 'Did You Know..' exhibit.
