Painting, acrylic on canvas, entitled 'Integration'. The panel is dominated by sinuous motifs (central snake?), rows of parallel lines, triangles, circles, as well as depictions of what appear to be boomerangs and shields. Colours include brown, black, grey, yellow, white and black. The 30.5cm x 40.6cm board has been framed with 4 pieces of dowel screwed together (2 pieces 475mm and 2 pieces 295mm). It is signed near the bottom left hand corner in a gold paint: 'K E V M 94.'
'INTEGRATION. The tribes, their lore and their existence all integrated into a harmonious life. I envisioned our tribe and its daily integration. The environment, the spirits and the conduct and customs of our tribe, this is how I see it to have been.' [exhibition label, 1994].
Karen Moran was employed as artist-in-residence from 29/09/1993 to 29/04/1994. During this time she made 9 paintings [40245 to 40253] which were displayed in the 'Did You Know..' exhibit.
