Description

Research notes

December 1996 - Sidney Wilson identified this as associated with the northern, leeward side of the Island - Jarragara Island, Birri mob - because there are feathers are on each side. The Birri side make their headdresses cylindrical / round as it is associated with wells in the beach (not rocks as is blue fish). The Foundation Donation comprises the items from L. P. Winterbotham's personal collection, which were donated to the University of Queensland in 1948 and form the basis of the Anthropology Museum.
