"This is a photograph of Andrew Ball, son of Jackie and Maggie Ball. Age when this photo was taken was thought to be between [65 and 70] years. Andrew Ball had been a black tracker and was quite famous as a boomerang thrower" [catalogue card note by J Devitt 28 Sept 1978].
"Andrew Ball, it is said, died at Cherbourg Mission during 1944" [typescript catalogue card note by Pat Bennett, Bli Bli, 22 Jan 1950]. Pat Bennett was a school teacher at Bli Bli, and made a number of stereographic pictures.
