Research notes

Has handpainted sign stating 'Native canoe hewn from a single tree by Cape York natives'.

"Dr Lauer and G French [Museum staff] brought this canoe back from Bishop Island Brisbane where it was being used as a flower bed (pot). It had Mother-in-law's Tongue [Sansevieria trifasciata] growing in the soil in the canoe". [catalogue card note, no date]
