Carved wood bobbin; two prongs at each end; string wound around the middle section; middle section painted with red ochre. Registration number 2861 marked with pen and tag.

From the UQ Anthropology Museum exhibitions 'Women with Clever Hands past and present' curated by Louise Hamby August 2013. Exhibition label: Wooden shuttles or bobbins were used for holding string in the same way as these [image on label] made from cardboard.
