Description

Paper envelope containing leaves of a climbing plant.

Research notes

From the UQ Anthropology Museum exhibition 'In the Red; on the vibrancy of things' June 2012 - January 2013.

In the Red exhibition label: Medicinal material, 1937-1953. The plant medicines contained within these envelopes, presumably labelled by Nilles, were used as love charms, to inhibit menstruation and conception and to cause abortion.

Given with pork/salt to girls and women.
