Description

Research notes

These drums are usually covered with a skin, such as a goanna, wallaby or deer skin. The skin will usually have tiny drops of native bees wax, which once melted by the sun, keeps the drum skin tight after becoming damp and slack [transcript, Sweeney source file]. Collected 1974 - 1977.
