Part of a set of 339 Ingiat figures [24626 to 24964] associated with a secret society, which taught male initiates how to inflict harm on enemies, and protect themselves from such harm and illness, as well as how to hold power over women and be successful at fishing.

From the UQ Anthropology Museum exhibition 'Double Up: Pasifika Treasures from the UQ Anthropology Museum' curated by Diana Young with Jane Willcock, 5 February - 9 April 2010.
