Description

Twined triangular pandanus skirt; long fringe extends from the lower edge; a loop of string extends from the top point; brown, yellow and orange dyed pandanus form curved bands across the skirt. Registration number 24572 marked with tag.

From the UQ Anthropology Museum exhibitions 'Women with Clever Hands past and present' curated by Louise Hamby August 2013. Exhibition label: One use of mats and skirts in the past was as a working surface for food preparation.
