Description

Didjeridu 24271 is formed from a hollowed out section of a tree and is a pale, light washed-out brown colour. It is 1060 mm in length; 65 mm in diameter at the mouth end with a 30 mm wide cavity; and 95 mm in diameter at the distal end with a 60 mm wide cavity. It is undecorated, with no evidence of treating the wood for preservation. The outer face has been smoothed or polished, and this has left numerous scratches and marks along its full length. There is a distinctive bend at the bottom third of the non-mouth end. Both ends appear to have been sawn, although at the mouth end, along a particularly thin edge, a section has broken off (Greg Vass 2000).
