Description

A long “diamond” shaped shield of dark hard-wood. One end of the shield, the tip of the ‘diamond” is shaped like a small disk. The face has been engraved following the “diamond” pattern and decorated. A yellow residue has been applied over the cross-hatch engraving that forms a border along the side margins and then applied again in another “diamond” shape in the un-engraved centre of the shield. Red paint has been applied to the areas without engraving. The yellow areas have also been covered with a darker reddish coat. Where this coat has been removed, the yellow residue appears bright yellow.
