Description

A medium sized broad shield of hard-wood. The entire surface of the face is painted: white ground, with a thick red band with vertical orientation down the centre. The greater part of the shield’s body is a horizontal section in the middle. This section has been carved making three sections, defined by two or more horizontal lines. The inner space of all three sections is infilled by “thatch”. The carved sections are painted black, blue and red; the entire surface of the back is painted; the middle handle section blue, the top and lower third sections painted white.
