Research notes

From the UQ Anthropology Museum exhibition 'Women with Clever Hands past and present' curated by Louise Hamby. Exhibition label: This basket would have been made for a child. This was also the idea Lucy Wanapuyngu, senior fibre artist from Gapuwiyak, expressed when she came to the Museum.

Catalogue Book 1 (CB1): 'Tiny woven basket.'

The Foundation Donation comprises the items from L. P. Winterbotham's personal collection, which were donated to the University of Queensland in 1948 and form the basis of the Anthropology Museum.
