Description

Carved wood float with fishing line; float is cylindrical with a row of small horizontal incisions on opposite sides; tapers up to a round stone secured to the top with plant fibre; top half is painted brown; "Fishing Line & Float" written on float in white. Registration number 3602 marked with pen and tag.

Research notes

Identified in 1993 by Anthony Meyer as Santa Cruz Island / Solomon Islands self-floating fishing lines.
