Research notes

From the UQ Anthropology Museum exhibition 'In the Red; on the vibrancy of things' June 2012 - January 2013.

Single woman's hat with many tassels. Items 23908 to 24133 and 24322 to 24331 were the private collection of Mrs Martin who went to the Province with the American Baptist Mission to set up an international marketing organisation for the tribal arts, mainly textile. Other Thai Hill tribes items purchased from Mrs Martin can be found at 24425 to 24438.

Dec 1998, Susan Tuckwell noted: Interesting for use of modern materials (eg plastic).
