Transcript from 1979 audiotape by Mrs Martin: This is a Karen harp. Again came from Burma, it is the only one I have ever seen like that and you have the Karen writing on the front of it. Items 23908 to 24133 and 24322 to 24331 were the private collection of Mrs Martin who went to the Province with the American Baptist Mission to set up an international marketing organisation for the tribal arts, mainly textile. Almost all items were exhibited in Museum Display No. 15, 1980. Other Thai Hill tribes items from Mrs Martin can be found at 24425 to 24438.
